GameDiscoverCo: Top Games on Steam and Consoles in June 2026 - sponsored by PWN Games
Meccha Chameleon is performing astonishingly well.
Data - GameDiscoverCo Pro. Sales include both direct Steam sales and keys sold directly.
Top 10 new Steam releases by units sold
Meccha Chameleon was June’s biggest hit with 11.5 million copies sold. It sold so well it literally broke the chart above. The game was made by one person.
The Gothic remake ($50) got off to a solid start on Steam - 575k copies, mostly to fans of the original from Europe. On PlayStation and Xbox, it sold only 80k copies, which makes sense given the original’s audience geography and the platforms.

Also making the top 5: Chinese FMV sequel Road To Empress II (627k copies), Burglin’ Gnomes (409k copies), and early access title Fatekeeper (346k copies).
❗️GameDiscoverCo notes a pricing-down trend among some of the month’s top new releases. A similar example: 33 Immortals, a former Epic Games Store exclusive, debuted on Steam under $10 (down from a $15 launch price) and sold 275k copies.
Top 10 new Steam releases by revenue
June was quiet for new-release revenue. May had 6 new games above $10 million on Steam; June only two. Many developers shifted their release dates around Next Fest and the Summer Sale.
Aside from the obvious leaders, SAND: Raiders of Sophie ($4.45 million) did well - a co-op PvPvE extraction shooter about “walking mech fortresses.” It only launched late in the month, on June 22nd.
Rounding out the top 5: Voidling Bound, with $3.5 million in revenue.
Top 10 Steam games by revenue (all titles)
Counter-Strike 2 dominates as always ($157.4 million).
Among older releases, Forza Horizon 6 stands out (#3). It grossed another $47 million in June (over 3 million copies sold on Steam, and over 15 million players across PC and Xbox combined).
Path Of Exile 2’s revenue ($37 million in June) jumped on the back of the Return Of The Ancients DLC, with CCU hitting 408k.
007 First Light is selling great (over $20 million in June) - GameDiscoverCo estimates it’s already past 1.3 million copies on Steam and 3 million across all platforms at a $70 price point.
Also worth noting in the top 30: Wuthering Waves (#12, $16 million) - helped by a Cyberpunk Edgerunners crossover - and Subnautica 2, which added roughly another $10 million to reach ~$110 million in total revenue (not counting keys sold outside Steam).
Console sales
EA Sports UFC 6 again skipped a PC release. Total sales, per GameDiscoverCo’s estimate, topped 1 million. But the game has an EA Play trial and had a closed beta, making an exact unit count harder to pin down.
NBA The Run ($30) - a 3-on-3 basketball game in the NBA Street mold - sold around 200k copies across all platforms.
On PlayStation Plus, the best performer was Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition (over 2 million new players), followed by Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 (about 1 million) and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (about 600k new players).
New Xbox Game Pass additions, led by Solarpunk, didn’t top 300-400k downloads.
On the Nintendo eShop, the Star Fox remake for Switch 2 is on top (hundreds of thousands of copies, plus physical sales). Next tier down, at around 50k copies each: Devil May Cry 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, eFootball Kick-Off!, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Twitch: a new metric in GameDiscoverCo Pro
The top 20 most-watched games on Twitch in June feature the usual leaders- Counter-Strike, League of Legends, and GTA V.
Good performance by Dead By Daylight at #9 (25 million hours watched) and Path Of Exile 2 at #10 (24.6 million hours); Meccha Chameleon landed at #11 right out of the gate (23.6 million hours).
Among June’s new releases - ones we haven’t covered yet - co-op horror title Fears To Fathom: Scratch Creek (#4, over 3 million hours watched) and Don’t Sleep With The Fishes (#6, 834k hours watched, for a $2 game!) performed well on Twitch.
