Google & Savanta: Gamers behavior in 2020
Google shared insights of how often people are paying, choosing new games and what forces them to quit the game.
16,000+ people from 11 countries took part in the research. Originally, it was published in Russian, so I’ll avoid graphics and will write down a quick overview.
The study says that gamers from Western Europe, Japan, and Russia are paying less frequently than other countries.
The most popular option to find the new game is to go the Store search. The second and third options are friends advice and YouTube ads respectively.
Only 6% of users are not paying attention to the games YouTube video or ad. Others at least considering buying or downloading it.
30% of users are quitting the game because they feel they’ve completed it; 20% are quitting because of lack of updates; another 20% don’t like high difficulty, which forces them to leave.
