Happy New Year! GameDev Reports stats of the year 🎄
Some numbers & words of appreciation at the end of the year!
Hey everyone!
The GameDev Reports newsletter this year grew to 8,842 subscribers, which is 57% up from 5,612 people who were reading it at the end of 2024!
I love this graph. First of all, it shows that a little bit of grind is required at the early stages. Second, it shows that organic growth is possible if the content is right. I’m constantly fighting with impostor syndrome, and I’m very grateful for everyone who is telling me in person or sending DMs that the newsletter is helpful. That’s always been the intention!
People from 114 countries & 46 states are reading the GameDev Reports. It’s flattering to see the US & UK at the top of the list. English is not my native language, and I guess that sometimes my choice of words & sentences can be a little weird. Hope it’s still manageable to read! 😄
Many people support the newsletter with a paid subscription. This means the world to me! I don’t want to paywall the content, even if I understand it’s the most efficient way to drive paid subscriptions. I think it’s important to share the core content for free.
However, I’m trying to build a bit of convenience for paid subscribers with the archive of reports from 2020 & curated list of articles. I consume a lot of content, and I want to save some time for my supporters. Lately, I’ve started to share more personal notes on the industry in my weekly updates for Premium subscribers. And I’m thinking of how I can make the Premium tier more helpful.

As the newsletter is growing, more companies are approaching for collaborations. I want to share a word of gratitude to all the partners we worked with this year. And current newsletter sponsor - Xsolla!
I don’t charge for publishing reports or interesting data. You can share your interesting numbers to db@gamedevreports.com, and if the report has new interesting insights, I’ll publish it for free.
I’ve covered 292 reports this year of different sizes - big and small. This is the daily routine that helps me to stay relevant and be in the loop of things happening in the industry. I hope it makes your professional life a bit easier, convenient, and slightly more interesting, too.
Thank you so much for the support! I’m lucky to have you all reading the GameDev Reports! I wish you all a fantastic 2026, a year full of happy moments! 🥳
See you in 2026! ❤️
