Top 10 New Releases on Steam by Copies Sold
Windrose was the most successful new release of April, with over 1.66 million copies sold in just over two weeks. The game’s CCU has been holding steady around 100,000 players.
Pragmata sold 1 million copies on Steam and another 600,000+ on consoles. Vampire Crawlers from the creators of Vampire Survivors came close to 1 million by month’s end (and had crossed it by the time of writing), with 903,000 copies sold in 10 days.
Far Far West sold 275,000 copies in April, with total sales reaching 750,000 by May 5. Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is also performing well, with 182,000 copies in April and 650,000 by May 5.
GameDiscoverCo notes that of the 10 new releases, only one is based on a known IP. Vampire Crawlers could arguably be included, though it’s not a direct sequel.
Top 10 New Releases on Steam by Revenue
Windrose earned $39.46 million in April; Pragmata earned $37.32 million.
All other titles are considerably further back. Third place goes to Mouse: P.I. For Hire ($10.65 million on Steam alone). Per GameDiscoverCo, the game is also selling well on consoles.
Top 10 Games on Steam by Copies Sold (Paid Games)
Slay the Spire 2 sold another 1.37 million copies in April. 62% of buyers had also played (or at least purchased) the original.
Crimson Desert added another 831,000 copies in April, pushing total sales past 5 million.
BidKing sold 730,000 copies in April. It’s a $3 game targeting a Chinese audience, with just 39% positive reviews, and its developers have been accused of money laundering. The project is an interesting multiplayer mix of a detective game, a casino, and a show, Container Wars.

Counter-Strike 2 remains at the top of the revenue chart regardless of new releases, earning $180.6 million in April. PUBG: Battlegrounds is second at $61.95 million.
